Ayurveda’s Voyage in Outer Space By Courtesy NNN
In what could be termed a unique and an ambitious plan of its kind, Shahnaz Husain, popularly known as Indian herbal queen, plans her new venture of Ayurveda in outer space.
Towards this end, the 55-year-old Indian herbal queen is reportedly sending samples of anti-stress and anti-aging creams and lotions to various space agencies, including NASA, and Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space.
The idea is to try to block the aging process in space using Ayurveda.
"These products have been specially created for use in outer space where there is no moisture in the atmosphere and the conditions are very different from those on earth," says Husain, who runs one of the world's biggest herbal product companies, worth around $100 million and with more than 450 products.
A pioneer in the use of India's ancient herbs for beauty treatment, Husain wants her products to be on a space mission by the end of the decade.
Astronauts already use a variety of specially designed products, including shaving creams, soaps and moisturizers, shampoos, toothpaste and anti-stress medicines. Husain believes her herbal products are going to be far better than the chemical fare.
These products are likely to be called Shahspace..
