Learn more about controlling acne
Acne is a skin condition where oil and dead skin tends to clog the skin’s pore. Acne occurs in areas having the largest oil glands like nose, forehead, back, chin, cheeks and trunk. Females tend to suffer most from acne while males do suffer from it and sometimes have more severe cases than females. Though some infants may develop acne, it is more common in adolescents, and disappears by the age of 30. Acne occurs in different forms, depending on the position of the acne. They are comedones which are divided into whiteheads and blackheads, pimples and cystic acne.
There are many creams in the market that help treat acne. However Ayurveda also offers some herbal remedies that prove to be rather effective in treating acne. Neem is one of the best blood purifiers and detoxifiers found in Ayurveda. It is used to maintain healthy skin with its immune enhancement properties. Neem is used for external applications and also helps in boosting the immune system by energizing lymphocytes cells.
Haemafine syrup is a herbal remedy that cures many skin diseases with blood purification. It provides a natural glow to the skin and also improves the complexion and provides a cure for acne, pimples and eczema. Another herb in Ayurveda that has great purifying and rejuvenating powers is Guggul. It is available in capsule form and is effective in curing skin problems like eczema, skin rashes and other skin problems.
Most doctors usually recommend a diet with less salt and oil with more foods rich in beta carotene like carrots, cantaloupe, pumpkin and other yellow-orange fruits and vegetables. Eat more of fruits, vegetables, sprouts and fruit juices. Making some alterations and modifications in your lifestyle also helps control acne. Make it a point to wash your face and affected parts gently once or twice a day. Though you may be tempted to squeeze pimples, don’t. It only leads to infections that can leave scars.
